Don’t let my age fool you, dears, I can still keep up with those younger pups.  My name is Ladybird, most likely named for our former first lady, Lady bird Johnson.  I had a good life with my mistress, I consider myself a very lucky lady, and when she died it broke my heart.  I went to her daughter to grieve, but instead realized that not only did she not want to grieve with me, she wanted nothing to do with me.  Not only did I lose my mistress, but I lost everything I ever knew.  My heart was doubly broken and I thought that was the end of this Ladybird, but it seems that God had other plans.  I was taken in by the CSAC instead of being sent to a kill shelter, where I probably wouldn’t have lasted a day.  I was covered head to toes with fleas and had so many other medicals problems… I’m no good at remembering all those fancy terms.  If it isn’t sit, stay, dinner or puppy treat it’s in one ear and out the other.  I do know that my medical care cost the CSAC a lot of money.  It would be very nice of you to help an old lady out, dears, and sponsor me so all the other older throwaway dogs can get a second chance at life.  We all deserve a second chance.
