My name is Koko, and I wish I didn’t have to tell you my horrible story, but I need to, if other rescued dogs are going to have the help they need when the time comes. I am ten years old, and I guess my family thought that meant I was too old to live any longer, so one night they drove to a construction site and threw me into a big dumpster with the rest of the trash and drove away. This was the family I loved and looked after all these years, and they simply tossed me away without a second glance back. Not only did this hurt my feelings, it also hurt my back pretty badly. In fact, it was my screaming in pain which alerted some construction workers that I was in the dumpster. They called animal control, who got me out of the dumpster, and in turn called CSAC who took me to the vet hospital to be checked out. The initial vet hospital couldn’t find the reason why I kept screaming in pain, so they discharged me to a foster home. My foster Mom then took me to a neurology specialist, who did an MRI of my spine and found I had ruptured discs from being thrown into that dumpster. The surgery to repair the discs was expensive, so I am very grateful, for the terrible pain is gone and I can walk now and even run a little. Each day is a little better for me, and I want to make sure other rescued dogs are lucky enough to have the opportunity for special surgeries or medicines like I have been blessed with by the nice volunteers at CSAC. Will you please help me help other “thrown away” dogs? Any donation will be very much appreciated. I’d like to help pay them back.
