Kellie
My name is Kellie and I was rescued from a shelter in Baltimore on St. Patrick's Day. I've been through a lot. When I came in, I was over 50 lbs which I'm told is twice what I should weigh. When the vet performed my spay surgery, she said that it was extremely difficult because of all the extra weight that I was carrying. I had to stay at the vet for almost two weeks after my surgery because I wasn't recovering well and they feared I would get an infection if I was released. Luckily a foster family took me in so I didn't have to finish recuperating in a kennel! Once I healed from my surgery, my foster family had me tested for medical conditions like Cushing's and low-thyroid that might have caused me to weigh so much. All the tests were negative which is great for me! I've slimmed down to only 35 lbs already and every check-up that I go in for reveals that I've lost a couple more pounds! I can scratch my head now and get around much better than I used to! It's great! I also came down with a weird eye infection called "uvitis" that could have cost me my eye-sight, but my foster parents made sure that I got to the vet and they took care of that too! I'm glad to be able to see and to be feeling so much better, but all of these tests and my surgery cost CSAC a lot of money. I know they don't mind, but they have lots of other dogs to save that have problems just like mine. Won't you be my sponsor? Raised
