I do not know what happened the day they took me to the shelter. My family had gotten tired of me. I had been with them for…oh let me think, it’s terrible to get old… around eleven and a half years and I had grown old. I guess I just was not any fun anymore, especially when I began to lose my eye sight, and they stopped loving me. They dropped me off somewhere strange, I had no idea until later that it was a kill shelter. I had all but given up hope that I was ever going to make it out of there alive when a nice person from the CSAC picked me up and took me to the doctor. While they could not fix my eyes, they definitely fixed my spirit. Instead of being a burden, I was someone’s pet again and even though I could not see these people loved me anyway. Now I run and play without a care in the world, I have my health and my other senses make up for the lack of sight. I know that my story is a common one and that my medical expenses were great because of the problems with my eyes. I wish I could pay back my medical expenses to the CSAC but the vet’s office does not accept puppy treats as a form of currency, go figure. Can you please sponsor me to save other cocker spaniels in kill shelters? No one should have to die that way. Thanks. Love, Cookie. Raised
